I am very happy because mi little daugter is starting to read in English, She is 6 years old. When we came to this country she was 3 years old and she only spoke Spanish, in that time I was worried because I tought that she will have some difficult speaking and listening English, but now I am very astonished how fast a kid can learn this language and now I am very worried for me, I want to be a kid again!!!! 
Roberto, you're right. It is so much easier for kids to learn a new language. Once people are around 12, it becomes harder to become as fluent. Congratulations on your daughter's new skill. She is a really beautiful little girl, and she must be very intelligent.
